The Family Jones Spirit House is a Denver based distillery with the usual suspects in the line of spirits including American Whiskey, Bourbon, Vodka and Gin. The spirits themselves are exceptional, whether served straight or in a cocktail.
It is in the tasting room that the cocktails come to life. With more of a restaurant feel, the bar is run by skilled mixologists, crafting a variety of drinks. The restaurant motif is supported by an executive chef, creating finger foods that compliment the spirits and cocktails. The new focaccia bread and “adult apple sauce” dip is out of this world!
But when it comes to convenience, The Family Jones does have their spin on keeping up with a fast-paced world. Why go through the process of making an Old Fashioned or a Cosmopolitan, when the Family Jones has made it for you? The distillery has taken their own spirits and made pre-made cocktails in a bottle, called Automatics.
The Family Jones Automatics are a line of four different hand crafted cocktails, Old Fashioned, Cosmopolitan, Martini and Rock N Rye, bottled and ready to drink. The best part of these ready made cocktails is they use The Family Jones own spirits. Pour into a glass and garnish for a perfect cocktail. Certainly, mixers are available at your local liquor store which you can combine with your spirit. But the Automatics are made with the Family Jones spirits, making the cocktail one of a kind.
The Family Jones is a distillery worth visiting for a flight of tastings and a couple of the bartender’s favorite concoctions. The distillery also holds tours of the facility every Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00. Reservations are recommended for both the tasting room and distillery tours.
